Orlando June 18:
Briggs ( CH Calypso Purr-Cedes Benz RN -Becraft ) finished Rally Novice title with a third place at the Mid-Florida GRC Specialty in hot, hot Orlando.
Dallas (CH Ebonaire Party Past Midnight, RN WC- Martin) earned a Rally Advanced leg and a Novice (CD) leg at the MFGRC specialty.
June 13 and 14-
Dallas and Elsa earned qualifiying legs in Baldwinsville, NY this weekend. Elsa is Goldengael Gorca's Born Free, RN (Androy and Dallas is CH Ebonaire Party Past Midnight RN WC (Martin)
June 7
Flash to the FlatCoated Retriever Society of America National and
see what the club calls a Single Stakes- it's sort of like a mini- field trial. Dogs are eliminated, one by one, and a new series is run, until the end when winners and JAMs are awarded.
Today was like the icing on a most delicious piece of cake, for Dallas ran the Single Stakes with her owner while Kim watched her show off, do her job and work through all the things they'd encountered in training as they presented in real life, with Jennifer as they made their way through series after series. This black dog was spectacular- and she was one of two AKC Champions to make it rhrough. She was awarded Judges Award of Merit at the National! This is satisfaction- a JAM at the National!
Weekend of June 6
Kim was back at Warwick, RI- this time for the Flat Coated Retriever National with Dallas-
Congratulations to Jennifer Martin on Dallas (CH Ebonaire Party Past Midnight RN WC) earning a WC at the National, and on a successful JH leg run.
Dallas might have been emulating Frank Sinatra, as she 'did it her way'... never mind HOW she did it, SHE DID IT!
Weekend of May 23
Kim was in Tennessee at the Birchwood test grounds which are also home to the migration of the Sandhill Cranes, as well as the newer migration of the threatened Whooping Cranes.
These are lovely grounds, but unlike most any we train on as a good portion of the time they are being cultivated for the crane visitation twice a year.
Ranger - Gemini's In Hot Pursuit RN (Ippel) earned a JH leg and Shine- Hillsides' Shiny and New (Leslie) earned her JH! Congrats!
Weekend of May 16-17
Kim spent at the LaVergne, TN AKC hunt tests in the mud of the Pearcy Pierce Lake floodplains. It was a mess, but was a success for Turtlecreek Sporting Dogs and it was a girls' weekend in Tennessee!
Shine (Hillside's Shiny and New WC- Pam Leslie) earned two JH legs!
Lyla (Prism's She Knows How To Move U, Robin and Maxie Bowen) is a new JH!
Piper (Gemini's High Flyer RN, Candi and Richard Pearce) is a new JH!

Last, but certainly not least,
Abbey earned her Certificate of Conformation Assessment- her CCA title-
SHR Amberlake's Freemark Chardonnay RN JH CCA CGC and congratulations go to Dee Dee Davis on Abbey's wonderful assessments. The evaluators were all very happy to assess her strengths.
Last but not least, Jack earned his AKC STAR degree- he is Calypso's Yo Ho Yo Ho STARpuppy until that gets replaced with AKC obedience titles! Congrats to Terie Pennington on this precious puppy.
It was a lovely weekend, and the Atlanta club did a great job of hosting. Please look on the 'events page' for the photos taken at the Easter Egg (or the doggie cookie) Hunt after the WC/X, which Kim chaired for the club.
It was a blast, and the judges, Michelle Love and Laurice Williams, ran a good test.

Kim and Lee were at Coastal Empire Hunting Retriever Club running UKC Started tests-
it was a very successful weekend!

Dallas- the lone FlatCoated Retriever added a beautiful splash of color and qualified
both days the very first time out!

Weekend of March 21 & 22
Kim played wonder woman this weekend, running between the Raleigh shows and the AKC hunt test in Linden, NC, about 45 miles away.
It was a great weekend, though, for several dogs in both venues starting with Anna Hackney's girls,
SeaDoo (Sandspur Monkey See Monkey Do) who earned her RN with a 91 (that's an 'A' in any book) and MayDay (BPIS, CH Sandspur's The Living Daylights BISS, JH) earned that JH and a qualifying leg in Rally. Congratulations Anna!
Nancy Gratiot's Breezy (CH Olympic's Nalyn's Sea Breeze JH) earned qualifying scores in her Novice class, bringing her close to that CD! and Connie, belonging to Betsy Smith (Runnymede True Confession) earned her Rally Novice title with a 95 very much an 'A' student! Congratulations to Nancy and to Betsy.
March 14 and 15
Kim and Lee were at events held by the Down East Hunting Retriever Club in Kinston, NC . Even though it was pouring buckets of rain, the girls all did well! Qualifying legs were earning by Anna Hackney's May Day (CH Sandspur's The Living Daylights BISS) and Robin and Maxie Bowen's Lyla (Prism's She Knows How to Move U). New Junior Hunters are Tess, owned by Terri Kuklica (Verdoro's Countrylane All Star at ChrisTi RN) and
Abby, owned by Dee Dee Davis (Amberlake's Freemark Chardonnay RN CGC. Many compliments to the club, as well, on an event held in the center of a town- it was a nice, nice test.
March 7 & 8

Weekend of Jan 31:
Kim spent the weekend with her daughter, Meagan, at the Atlanta shows. Meagan lives in Arizona and is a CPA- who will forever ,from now on, be coming to the Atlanta shows to hopefully repeat her handling coup since she put WB on Jitter (My Buddy's Jitterbug..Jitterbug) days one and three of the shows and Jitter was BOW on Sunday as well. Jitter has a major and 7 points now, and is going to take a little break to be a mommy. The weekend off was a great one! Oh, and their puppy won her class too!

It's a new year and we are ready at Turtle Creek Sporting Dogs. Our first event will be the Nashville Obedience Training Club shows the end of the month. We're training intensely and are looking forward to

Easter weekend - Perry, GA
Henderson Village is the nicest place! The Atlanta Golden Retriever Club held a WC/WCX/CCA in conjunction with the AGRC Specialty at Perry GA and it was an example of everyone in a club working together in wonderful fashion, cooperation at the fullest, and happy campers (who wouldn't be at Henderson Village!?!) We have many brags from the weekend.
Hooray for May and Anna and Roger Hackney on May's new WC. May is CH, BPIS, SHR Sandspur The Living Daylights BISS, RN, JH,WC and we are happy to be a part of her contribution to the breed. She's a truly versatile Golden and is Versatility Certificate eligible now to prove that.
Thunder is Versatility Certificate elibible now! Hooray for Thunder and Milito and Monica Echaves on Thunder's new WC and on his CCA title, making him one of maybe 15 AKC Champion CCA title holders- he is FCI, AKC CH SHR Masters Thunder Storm JH RN WC CCA
Court is a new WC, too- he is SHR Kandiland Justice Four All JH RN WC CGC and congratulations go to Jovonnie Androy on Court's accomplishments. He made such a pretty picture at the water that the judges both commented on, very, very handsome.
Breezie got her WC as well- she is CH. Olympic's Nalyn's Sea Breeze RN JH WC and Nancy Gratiot has a beautiful girl on her hands who has talent too, and we are so happy to be a part of what is sure to be an exciting future.
Shine, Hillside's Shiny and New WC (Pamela Leslie) is a new WC- Shine is one of many dogs Pamela has sent to Kim for training and titling, she is Kim's oldest client and has lovely Labs who are a pleasure to partner with.
Sunni (Rachel's Endearing Solar Delight) is a new RN, and belongs to Herman and Joanne Green- who are not new to Goldens but are new to the titling game, and had the good fortune of both their girls (Sunni and Katie) finishing their Rally Novice titles at Perry. Sunni finished with a 1st place at the AGRC Specialty day, and Ranger (Gemini's In Hot Pursuit) is also a new RN. Ranger belongs to Jack and Karen Ippel and Cindi Metcalf, and he took his title with a 2nd place win at the AGRC specialty!
