Some obedience training is neccesary to do field training and titling. Because we already have some of the foundation in place, we offer obedience titling as well. The obedience training ranges from very basic training, such as teaching the dog to reliably respond to basic commands such as "sit", "down", "come", and "stay" , in other words be a good companion who minds, and we train through AKC CD and CDX titles for clients.
We enjoy taking the dogs to obedience
trials and Rally trials, and
think that the dogs enjoy
a change of pace now
and then as well.

We’re having a great time with the new Rally program- the dogs love it, we love it. Contrary to what was originally thought when AKC adopted the program, Rally really is not easy. There are at least 50 different skills in a RN title, and that assumes good heeling/sitting to start with. Rally may not be easy but it is FUN! Of course, even with the addition of Rally titling to our menu, we still do upper level training and titling and find that using Rally as a reinforcer for our obedience program works well for the dogs and allows our clients to prudently use their resources as most shows have both Rally and obedience trials at the same location.
